Copyright page dated only 1961. LOC numbers but no ISBN numbers (not on the DJ, either). Back cover of DJ has reviews of The Moon Jumpers, also by Udry and Sendak (and winner of the 1960 Caldecott Medal). DJ is good and clean, with a short tear about the size of a dome on the front cover. The DJ is in a protective sleeve. Signed on the front endpaper by Sendak, "To Gillian. hello! Maurice Sendak.
