I Can Read Play-a-Sound Book - Hardcover

The I Can Read Play-a-Sound Book helps children build reading skills through sight and sound. Designed for children just learning to read, the book features five stories and 30 sound buttons that introduce new words used in the stories. Each button features an illustration of an object and its word spelled out; when the button is pressed, kids hear the word plus a sound associated with that word. Here are a few examples of the buttons:

• A barking puppy for the word "puppy."
• A ringing telephone for the word "telephone."
• The sound of an airplane engine for the word "plane."
• A twinkling star for the word "star."
• A trumpeting elephant for the word "elephant."

As children read the stories, illustrated icons that match the buttons on the book's sound module help them learn 30 new words. The five stories are:

• Puppy's Play Day
• Ernie's Song
• Diving Days
• Oink a Doodle Doo!

Safety tested for children ages 18 months and older, the I Can Read Play-a-Sound Book conforms to the safety requirements of ASTM F963-08. Three replaceable long-life AG-13 button cell batteries that power the book are included.
