Tiger Butte - Softcover

A standard Western set in California in the late 1870s. John Leslie, marshal of Jericho, Arizona Territory, after killing The Bodie Kid, goes to California to find the love of his youth, Belle Jackson, now a widow. When he learns her mortgage is about to be foreclosed, he sets out to capture Orozco, a Mexican bandit with a price on his head sufficient to pay off the mortgage. Then follows high adventure with the Kid's brother chasing Leslie to avenge his death; Belle following to save Leslie; Orozco rescuing Belle from the Indians and keeping her. Ultimately the tangled plot sorts itself out. The author makes a strong point of the ill treatment of Mexicans by yanquis who exploited and swindled them.
