Do you consider yourself an environmental ally? Maybe you recycle your household goods, ride a bike, and avoid too much air travel. But did you know that the primary driver of climate change isn’t plastics, or cars, or airplanes? Did you know that it’s actually our industrialized food system? In this fascinating new book, authors Nil Zacharias and Gene Stone share new research, intriguing infographics, and compelling arguments that support what scientists across the world are beginning to affirm and uphold: By making even minimal dietary changes, anyone can have a positive, lasting impact on our planet. If you love the planet, the only way to save it is by switching out meat for plant-based meals, one bite at a time.

About the Author:
Nil Zacharias is the cofounder and editor in chief of One Green Planet (onegreenplanet.org), which is one of the largest and fastest-growing independent digital media platforms in the food sustainability and green space. Zacharias lives in New York City.
Gene Stone has written or cowritten 45 books on a wide variety of subjects, including the national bestsellers Forks Over Knives, How Not to Die, and The Engine 2 Diet. Stone lives in Hudson, NY.
Review:
“Our current food system profits from making people sick. Books like this are lighting the way to empower people to make better choices for their own health—and the planet as well.”
(Dr. T. Colin Campbell author of The China Study and Jacob Gould Schulman Professor Emeritus, Cornell University)

“Eating plants is not just good for your own health, it’s imperative for the health of the planet. This well-argued, well-written book makes it clear why everyone should consider a plant-based diet today.”
(Michael Greger, MD New York Times bestselling author of How Not to Die and The How Not to Die Cookbook)

Eat for the Planet is an indispensable guide for anyone who wants to live to age 100—by making sure there’s a livable world when you get there.”
(Dan Buettner New York Times bestselling author of The Blue Zones)

“Possibly the single most important environmental book I’ve read in years. A must for everyone.” (Kathy Freston New York Times bestselling author of The Lean and Quantum Wellness)

“This fascinating, easy-to-read book will give you still another reason to eat plants and not animals: you will be doing a world of good—literally!” (Rip Esselstyn New York Times bestselling author of The Engine 2 Diet)

“A persuasive and important book on why a mass shift to a plant-based diet is necessary to limit hunger and maintain a livable ecosystem.” (Brian Wendel Founder and President of Forks Over Knives)

“Factory farming and their monoculture deserts of feed are like a million burning oil wells, destroying soil fertility and generating huge amounts of greenhouse gasses. This book by Zacharias and Stone has the potential to unite people fighting for change across our food system and have a lasting impact.” (David Bronner CEO of top-selling natural soap brand, Dr. Bronner’s)

“If you’re an environmentalist and you’re still eating animal-based foods, think again. In this engaging and convincing book Zacharias and Stone prove once and for all that the best way to help the Earth is to eat a plant-based diet.” (Gene Baur Cofounder, Farm Sanctuary)

“Wonder what’s the best way to help the environment? Read this extraordinary book and discover that your food choices can do more than just about any other path you take.” (Nathan Runkle Founder, Mercy for Animals)

“The impact factory farming has on the planet and people’s health is undeniable. It’s great to see a book that’s focused on pioneering solutions that make it easier for people to make better choices.” (Scott Giambastiani Global Program Chef, Google)
