From Library Journal:
Straub was the producer of "The 700 Club," hosted by evangelist/presidential aspirant Pat Robertson, for over two years. This memoir recounts his strict Catholic upbringing, his fundamentalist conversion, and his ultimate falling out with Robertson and transition to a personal, nondoctrinaire Christian faith. He presents evidence that Robertson and his staff are guilty of hubris, inflexibility, greed, and insensitivity. However, he does not accuse them of charlatanism as he does other television evangelists. Ultimately, the work is more an exorcism of Straub's personal demons than the "holy roller-coaster ride through a spiritual amusement park" that he promises. Richard S. Watts, San Bernardino Cty.
