From AudioFile:
Larry Winget thinks people are idiots and he can prove it. The motivational speaker's latest audiobook denounces self-destructive habits. It's hard to argue his main points. It's true that people who smoke, drink, overeat, gamble, don't exercise, overspend, and just lie around are idiots. But his presentation is far from sophisticated, he reads rather than performs, and he sounds like a trailer park version of Dr. Phil. He spends way too much time talking about how tough his advice is going to be. And he pronounces the "h" in words like "what" and "why." His advice is straightforward and naïve: just put a "don't" in front of all the problems. It might be easier to swallow if he weren't so nasty about it. But clearly that's his schtick.
